The process for our diamond overlay laser welds a matrix of diamonds to white iron components that are exposed to abrasive slurries or abrasive material. The matrix is sprayed onto the part with a patented technology and is then bonded to the surface with a laser. The result looks similar to a clean welding bead, i.e. a small ridge of metal with a slightly gritty texture. The ridges are applied side by side until the part is coated. Additional layers can be added.

The diamond overlay protects the component and results in it lasting up to 6 times longer in the field, which results in less down time in production.
